With wedding seasons quickly passing through, I wanted to share some of my favorite looks with you...
Worn casually or on the most special day of your life, this is it.
This is my style, my most adored look.
(Listening to "Les Etoiles" by Melody Gardot, these beauties become even more magical...)

What he's taught me.

Slow buds the pink dawn like a rose
From out night's gray and cloudy sheath;
Softly and still it grows and grows,
Petal by petal, leaf by leaf.

As our little one grows, so do we. The old saying "you learn as you go"...those are words of experience. I'm sure within the past 6 months, we've experienced more as a couple and a mom and dad than we ever thought may be. Kids are wild and free, they have always made me so happy! They light up the room, they're joyful, they're themselves. They're adventurous and curious. They're loving and playful. They don't mind messes, or stress about tomorrow. They take each moment as it comes, and never hold a grudge. They soak in everything around them and grow in their surroundings. They teach us, if we let them, just as much as we teach them. They truly are angels.
Brady Jameson, as you know, has become my everything. The things I've learned from this little boy are things I never knew could turn around my day. It is okay to continue rocking him after he's asleep, so that I can gaze a few more minutes at his eyes like mine, his hands like his dad, and the curls that I prayed for. It's okay to sing to my baby on the front porch while the neighbors can hear, and it's more than okay to draw a thick black line through my Saturday appointment book to spend time with the precious family God has so faithfully blessed me with.
My family truly is my everything. Everyday I wonder how four years has taken me on a journey through so many wonderful chapters. I've learned so many things, I've grown so much. Most of all, I've learned to never stop learning. I've learned to listen, and to think positively. Make the most of life. To learn. So much I've been taught in the last 6 months by this precious baby. Keep an open mind & an open heart, and each day will bring you blessings.

Busy bee.

I've just realized it's been too long since I've blogged! Too much going on, as usual. As soon as we get a break, it's hardly enjoyable, only because we fill our time with projects, housework, the normal to do's of everyday. In my life, every new day brings countless blessings, and things that I've recently opened my eyes to that I too often take for granted.
As these weeks are passing by, and we're over halfway through this year, my little one is six months old, my little sister has turned 21, and times are changing. It's always what you make of it, so I'm happy with the way things are. I've recently been through four books, 6 a.m. workouts at the gym, and more relaxing days than usual. Yesterday hit me hard, being on my feet from 5 a.m. until 10 back was ungrateful for those wedges and so were my feet. I have to say I'm so thankful for being at the salon I'm at, with the sweet girls I work with. Dana being pregnant and not feeling well, I feel for her everyday. Michelle just being her hilarious self...and walking back into the room seeing Kylie doing a dance. I have to say, where I work couldn't get much better.
Being that it's almost August, that little glimpse of fall I get about this time every year (when I'm dying to sit inside a freezer) has reminded me of my favorite things to look forward to. It's my favorite time of year. Our anniversary, my birthday, apple cider & the mountains. Hiking, camping, & football season. Everything is fresh and comfortable in the fall. I may be thinking way too far ahead, and I suppose I do rush things, but that's what happens when it's too humid to breathe and you sweat even in the A.C.
Today, I woke up wondering how anyone is expected to be productive with the sound of rain in a dark room, in a cozy bed. I hear Brady talking to himself in his room, so I walk in his room and peek in his crib. He's smiling. I knew we didn't have much time to fall back asleep because in a few hours, we had our six month session with Allison! (Which I tried everything in my closet on and couldn't make up my mind...) Everything was great, Brady was great, considering the heat, and I am MORE than thrilled to see the pictures! It's been a happy day, Brady fell right asleep after the session and I've been throwing loads of laundry in and out of the washer like we have a family of ten.
Here comes a new weekend...dinner with Angela, wedding celebrations for my cousin Mary Kathryn that I haven't seen in ages!, and looking forward to the beach in just a couple more weeks! But, before all this...tonight I get to spend time with my two favorite boys, in my favorite place. Home.

The Six Wonderful Months That've Passed Us By...

The past six months have been the happiest of my life.
My heart has never been so happy, and until now, I've never known a smile to bring tears to my eyes.
I thought I'd go back a bit and stroll you through best 6 months of my life.

-January 6th, 2011-

Could never ever describe the feeling of first meeting your own child. It's way more than a miracle.

Couldn't believe my eyes were seeing red hair on my little fella.

He's growing so fast and everyone is having a BLAST with this baby! He loves screaming when he's excited, and he's perfect on long trips. He loves sweet peas and being tickled. He loves taking naps and adores being outside. He watches Brian mow the grass and he loves to sit on the porch and reach for the ferns. He loves riding on the golf cart and all the attention he gets from his favorite cousins! This little guy has stolen our hearts completely. Happy 6 months to my Brady Jameson, you are loved more than you'll ever know!
